Let them know about the website. Get them to sign the petition: the more people who sign up, the better.
Write a letter or send an e-mail to your local councillor, your MP, the governors at John Roan School, the John Roan Foundation, the school’s headteacher, and the headteacher at your own local primary school. Express to them your concern about the move, and note your support for the campaign. (We have sample letters we can give you.)
Prepare your objections to the planning application
Base your objection on concerns such as the following:
The proposed site breaks Health & Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines by lying within the blast zone of the Peninsula’s gasholder.
There is no safe walking or cycling access to the school for nearly all children in the current catchment.
The proposed building does not meet BB98 guidelines for recreational space.
(BB98 is the DfES guideline specification for the building of new schools)
